MARCHING DRUM | 27.02.2013On the 27th February, I will finally release a music video for Marching Drum. You can watch the trailer by clicking here. This song, for me, is probably my most important musical landmark to date, for many different reasons.
Firstly, this song was recorded at Abbey Road Studios, back in 2011; I got to record at Abbey Road, with my friends Eddplant, Tom Milsom, Dan Clark and Jimmy Balch, because of the outstanding support from family, friends and fans in the Pepsi Max-It Legends competition. Without you believing in me, I wouldn’t have got there. Marching Drum is a reminder of that, the support I received, my loyal fanbase and how my dreams can be accomplished with hard-work.
Secondly, this song is about the start of a relationship that almost didn’t happen. The lyrics were intended to pull me and him through, helping us overcome all barriers in our way. Two years on from when I first wrote the track, I know we achieved just that. Unfortunately, that relationship is no more, but this song doesn’t reminder me of the bad; it reminds me of how much we endured to make it work, the amazing relationship we had and how much his love has brought me.
Lastly, the fact that this video is actually being released almost 2 years after it was recorded, closes an incredible chapter in my life. The part where I grabbed all my dreams, moved forward and developed more as a person, faster than i have at any other point in my life. It’s a reminder that I am capable, but I shouldn’t be lazy; I have to work hard to carry on moving up.
This song means so much to me, and because of that I want to push it everywhere I can. So join me on Wednesday, when I’ll be tweeting the video at music blogs and people in the music industry to help it gain some attention. More details are here on this facebook event page.
Thank you all so much for getting me this far and I really hope you enjoy the music video once it’s released. ”We’ll overcome it, our love will guide it, the youth united, despite divided." - Marching Drum from Call To Arms, 2011
